Mat 21:12And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons.
Mat 21:13He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you make it a den of robbers."
What’s gotten into Jesus? He is usually so gentle… so loving… so kind… so congenial… so understanding! Here He seems so angry!
Some would say that this outburst of anger is due to fund raising in church! Perhaps… but I think there may be better lessons than that!
Ever cried out? "I want more of Your Presence”.
Ever feel a distance between you and God? Ask Him, “Lord who moved”!?
Ever wonder why your service is dry? “Lord, I want to continue to serve you!”
Beloved, God can use a small vessel, but He rarely uses a dirty one. Nothing has gotten into Jesus that wasn’t already there…. it’s called holiness!
Perhaps the Lord is saying He’s had enough…. that it’s time to "turn the tables" over in our lives. And, if we won’t do it, He is willing to help us! What’s gotten into Jesus? Nothing new… Its the same message…. "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”!
As it is written...
Jer 15:19This is how the LORD responds: "If you return to Me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve Me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be My spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!
Whats gotten into Jesus? Nothing unusual! He is simply restoring His temple! He just wants to turn the tables on what’s gotten into us!
