Bride of Christ

A gift to hold on to!

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.  Eph. 2:8-9  NASB

“Are you ready to be saved”?, I asked the man on the beach.   “Well… not yet”, he replied!   “I still have a lot to do to get right with God before I do”!

Did you hear his answer?   “I still have a lot to do”???   He was obviously caught in the trap of religious thinking!   Why do we lean toward beliving that getting right with God is something that we can do ourselves?   Outside of Christ, can I ever boast of how hard I worked to earn my salvation?

No beloved… that would take away what Christ has done for me!  That would be a false gospel!   So… how does one receive this "gift of God” called salvation?   A jailer once asked Paul and Silas that same question...

“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”  They said, “ Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved”  Acts 16:30-31

Salvation is a precious gift!   It can never be earned or deserved!    It’s a gift that you will want to hold on to!
