Bride of Christ

Oops!

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.  Deut. 5:11 NASB

When a wife marries her husband, she takes on his name.   She has legal rights of ownership to all that comes with that name.  Imagine someone stealing your wife’s identity.   This person tries to cash a check on your joint account, but she is unsuccessful!  Why?   Simple... even though she is trying to pawn herself off as Mrs.  _________, she doesn’t have legal right to be who she says she is.    She is not the real deal!   Her husband doesn’t even know who she is!!    She has taken his name in vain!   When caught she goes to jail!   Oops!

Perhaps that may answer why many who say they belong to the Lord, are not successful in living the victorious Christian life!   Perhaps, they have stolen their identity, and only pawn themselves off as the Lord’s bride.  Listen:

“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord! ’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name. ’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me…”  Matt. 7:21-22

Imagine, beloved trying to use the Lords Name for personal gain without knowing really knowing Him…. or worse… Him not knowing you!   Oops!
