This letter is from John to the seven churches in the province of Asia. Rev. 1:4 NLT
Years ago, I had become disgruntled and irritated with “church” and all the flaws I saw. Ironically, at the same time, the Lord opened doors for me to preach all across Iowa and Nebraska. Because I thought it was my Job to “correct” these errors, the messages were pretty hard, and judgmental.
Then one day, while praying for these, “Backslidden and apostate churches”, the Lord spoke to me as clear as a bell. He said, “John, be careful… that is My Bride that you are talking about”!
i got the message! Beloved… Jesus Christ has a bride… Yes, she may be flawed and gets dirty from time to time, but Her husband knows it, and only He is can cleanse her. How? Listen…
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Eph. 5:25-27
Read that again carefully!
Dear one… if you don’t want someone trash talking your bride, then don’t do it to someone else either…. especially if the bride belongs to Jesus.
