He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126:6 ESV
When the farmers used to harvest they would have to set back some of the best seed for sowing next years crop. For many families, the time would come when they ran out of grain to eat. Their bellies would rumble, and their kids would say, “daddy, why don’t we eat the corn that is in that bag?”
With all that pressure, it would have been easy to dig into the seed bag and eat it. But, if they did, there would be no crop next year! For some, there would be tears in their eyes as they sowed the very seed they were hungry for now.
Beloved, there is a law of the harvest!
1. You reap what you sow!
2. You reap more than sow!
3. You can’t reap until you sow!
4. God gives the increase of what is sown!
OH, And one more thing…. Don’t eat the seed!
