Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Philip. 3:14 NLT
I once had a man tell my that I was naive! Of course, his meaning was that I was, “inexperienced and gullible”! He meant it in an unkind way. But another meaning of “naive” is, “Innocent”. So… because I was thinking he meant, “innocent”, [I was so naive] it surprised him that I wasn’t offended.
Not being offended; or, at least, keeping offenses short is the key to getting over the past. Getting over the past is the key to having a winning future. It is hard to “press on” to your highest calling while continuing to, “hold on” to past offenses. You have a choice to make… either sit around thinking about what the offender did and how the offender did it, and what you are going to do to your offender [if you ever get the chance], or shake if off, get back up and run the race that God has set before you.
Remember, hanging on to offenses is the biggest hinderance to Gods anointing and blessing in your life. Instead of joy and peace, it will bring bitterness and grief.
Beloved, the year is ending fast… just a few more days. Christ Jesus is calling you to run a great race! It lays ahead of you. it’s hard to run while weighted down and carrying the memories what another person did or said. He or she has to run their own race! Only those who run their own race will win the prize!
As it is written, “forgive, and you will be forgiven”! Has the power and strength to run your race been drained? Want your strength and joy back? Then be innocent of holding on to offenses! Why not choose to drop it? Doing so, makes you the winner!
