Bride of Christ

“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers”.    Luke 22:31  NASB

Once in a while the recipe says:  "Use Sifted Flour”!  The man in me, says, "It looks good enough to me!    It takes too much time to sift… so… Why Sift??”
Sifting is a process that breaks up any lumps in the flour.  Sifted flour, which is much lighter than unsifted flour, is easier to mix into other ingredients when forming a cake batter or making dough.

Pete had already been with the Master… he had gone to villages and preached repentance,  cast out demons, and healed the sick.   Satan knew Pete by name!  And, since there was great potential in Peter to do more damage to satan’s kingdom, the devil demanded to “sift” him.   And the Lord allowed the sifting!   Why sift?

Peter had, LUMPS in the flour!  He didn’t “MIX WELL” with the other ingredients that make for success.   When the disciples argued over, “Who’s the greatest”?, Pete just knew they were talking about him.

We may not like it, but God’s recipe for successful discipleship is, “satan Sifting"
Beloved, rejoice during your sifting.  Rejoice, that the devil knows your name!  Rejoice because you have potential to do even more damage to the kingdom of darkness than you are doing now.    But, no matter how much sifting the devil does… “Rejoice that your name is written down in the Lamb’s book of life”.

And, dear one… if you know someone who is getting “sifted” don’t wonder about it… pray about it… after all...

The Lord is praying for you when your going through the, “satan sifter”.
