A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit dries up the bones. Prov. 17:22 KJV
Someone said, "Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive".
It pays to have a sense of humor. Now, I know that not everything is funny, and there are times to be serious... but to be TOO SERIOUS creates undo stress on your heart and mind... and.. on those who live around you.
Most people I know have trouble dealing with life simply because they are emotionally anchored to the past. Not being able to find the humor of it all, life is lived like we were dragging an anchor along the bottom. Now that will wear you out fast! The face shows a scow instead of a smile. There is no longer any positive look at new problems... only more hopelessness and stress. It's heart overload!
But... if you can anchor yourself to humor in times of havoc, your brain will begin to associate stress with positive solutions to current problems. The anchor is cut away, and you are free. A merry heart... really is like a medicine!
Dear one... look for something humorous today! If you can't find anything else... take a look at yourself in the mirror.... wave at yourself... then laugh out loud!
