And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God. Titus 2:12 NLT
Here is a thought... If you struggle with habits you wish you didn't have... and find yourself frustrated with the inability to turn from godless living and sinful acts, perhaps the energy should be on acts of devotion instead.
As you look at how you've spent your life thus far, what act would you consider to be a consistent act of devotion? Hopefully there are more than one.
The devil hates, "acts of devotion".... so the next time you are tempted... instead of acting out the temptation ... try using it as a reminder to do an ACT OF DEVOTION! When you turn temptation into an ACT OF DEVOTION, the devil will flee...
As it is written, "So submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you" [James 4:7-8]
Beloved, take action... Prayer... being still and knowing God's voice... Scripture memorization... going to church... calling someone on the phone and praying for them... helping someone through a financial crisis... Singing praises... all of these and more could qualify as an ACT OF DEVOTION
