Bride of Christ

Better off Bald 10/28/14

During the battle, Absalom happened to come upon some of David’s men. He tried to escape on his mule, but as he rode beneath the thick branches of a great tree, his hair got caught in the tree. His mule kept going and left him dangling in the air.  2Sam. 18:9  NLT

Absalom was the oldest of King David's sons, and would have eventually been heir to the throne... but Absalom couldn't wait, so he tried to overthrow the King by undermining his fathers authority.   He would ride his mule from city to city and proclaim... "IF I WERE KING..."

His rebellion led to war with his father and eventually his own death.   Absalom was also a very handsome man... with long flowing locks of dark black hair!   You could say that Absalom was "pretty proud"!

Beloved be careful of your pride today...

You've heard it said, "Pride comes before the fall"!   In Absalom's case, his pride left him hanging in the air!   Only his mule got away!     He would have better off bald...
